After a tumultuous back half of the 1800s, Anna Jarvis pushed the recognition of Mothers and the sacrifices they make as a way to honour her late mother in the US after the turn of the century. Now recognized internationally, we all take time out of our year to celebrate our mothers. This day, more than 100 years later, is a day just as cherished as ever.
